Do's and Dont's - Dumpster 101

The following items are not allowed to be disposed of at the landfill and are not allowed in the dumpster. Asbestos, Paint, Oil, Gas, Tires, Drums of Chemicals, Batteries, Appliances that contain Freon (refrigerators, freezers, A/C units, hazardous wastes, no electronics of any kind. Non Hazardous Special-Wastes (drums, sludge's, liquids/oils) will be refused or returned at CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE.
Do Not OVERFILL the dumpster past the top, we are required to tarp the top of the dumpster to transport. If the dumpster is overloaded, items will be removed and left at the CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE. If you have mattresses, leave them until the end and place them on top of the dumpster load.
Heavy Weighted Items, such as dirt, rock, sand, plaster or sod could cause an overload. Do not fill the dumpster up with these type of items. We recommend only filling the dumpster ONE QUARTER FULL of these items.
NO Electronics - Sorry! Electronic items may be taken to Alamosa for a small fee. PDA's, Phones, GPS Devices, Digital Camera's, VCR's Computers and Peripherals, Digital Music Players, Household Appliances, Fax Machines, Office Equipment, Video Game Systems & Peripherals.
CAUTION: Do not play in, on or around, or occupy this container for any purposes other than it's intention. Parents, please inform your children dumpsters are not to be played in.
When choosing where to set your dumpster, the container must be placed on a hard level surface and must be loaded uniformly. Also a reminder that the truck loads/unloads the dumpster high in the air (like a dump truck), choose an area that is free of overhead power lines, etc.
When we attempt to pickup the dumpster additional charges may occur such as trip charges, extra tons over the specified maximum, time to unload prohibited items, if when we attempt to pick up the dumpster and find:
- we are unable to pickup the dumpster because the dumpster access is blocked
- the dumpster is loaded with prohibited items
- the dumpster is over loaded (past the top) and we are unable to tarp the dumpster for transport
- is over loaded with extremely heavy materials, such as dirt, manure, brick, stone, concrete, etc.
